The Float Trip is this weekend! Saturday after the TeamWOD/Nutrition Challenge Retest, we will hop on a bus down to Albany to jump into the Sugar River. Make sure to add your name to the board; there will be plenty of room so invite friends and family (adults only, please). Bring food, a cooler full of drinks(no glass), and some cash for your tube rental. The bus will be $20 per rider, which I can collect before, during, or after the trip. This is a great way to meet your fellow Connex Members and enjoy a lazy float!

July Nutrition Challenge Tip of the Day:
Take care of your gut and your gut will take care of you. There are new studies showing that special bacteria in our digestive system is incredibly important to our health. The better we promote health of these bacteria, the more they help us reduce stress, relieve digestive issues, reduce mental issues such a depression, improve nutrient absorption, and help stave off disease and illness. Some foods that help promote these awesome critters include green, leafy, fibrous vegetables and cultured foods like kimchi, sauerkraut, and unpasteurized yogurts (make sure they still have their live active cultures.) Foods that negatively affect our gut flora include processed grains, sugar, and conventional dairy products. Some other things that can harm these guys are anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen, antibiotics, and pesticides. If you often have stomach discomfort after your favorite meals, look at the ingredients to see if anything listed may actually be an issue for you and see if cutting that from your diet relieves your issues.
