What are your favorite hobbies, talents, skills outside of CrossFit?
Well I’m pretty good at consuming large amounts of alcohol. I love golfing and doing anything outdoors. I’m a total video game nerd. I’m also super good at binge watching Netflix
What motto or phrase do you live by?
Now she want a photo, you already know though, you only live once that’s the motto YOLO. In all seriousness do whatever makes you happy and don’t worry what other people think
What is something we might not know about you ?
I’m colorblind and have three titanium plates in my head from a bad accident
What is your favorite music to listen to while WODing?
Rap or metal or jamming out to my home girl Tswift
What upcoming adventure are you planning?
Bachelor party in Nashville and a wedding in Florida. Then me Samwise and Pippin are taking a quest to mordor to destroy this ring
Do any of your family members CrossFit? If so, where?
Not that I know of.
What is your occupation?
I drive a handy dandy forklift around
What is your athletic background?
I did karate from when I was 6 to 10. Played some football. Trained in Brazilian jujitsu for awhile as well
How long have you been with CrossFit Connex?
almost a year
What is your favorite WOD?
Something that is all barbel work like Linda
What is your least favorite WOD?
Anything with running or burpees
What is your favorite lift?
All of them, I like lifting
What is your favorite paleo meal/snack?
What is your favorite cheat Food(s)?
Sour patch kids for sure. Big sweet tooth #fatkidstatus
What would your perfect WOD look like?
Like a 21-15-9 of three different barbel movements then have Alison farmer carry me for a mile as I horizontal run
What is one thing you have done at CFC that you never thought you would do?
I believe anything is possible with the right amount of practice and determination but getting multiple muscle ups was pretty cool for me
What motivates you during a CrossFit WOD?
Having other people next to me going though the same thing I am.
What do you eat pre/post WOD?
I try to stick with protein, veggies, fruits, and healthy fats like nuts pre WOD and the some sort of protein and carbs like sweet potatoes post WOD
What results have you seen so far in coming to CFC?
Booty gainz! I feel a lot stronger and my mobility has improved greatly. I have running but I’ve gotten a little better at that too
What was you main reason for joining CFC?
My roommate goes to farmland so I had to find a different box than him and after looking at other gyms daily wods Connex seemed like the best programming. Connex seemed to have more intense wods than other boxes and with the motto of CrossFit being “forging elite fitness” why would I go to a box that does less. Some may call that over programming but you don’t start CrossFit to take it easy.
Give us some insight as to your thoughts after your first workout at CrossFit Connex?
Tell us a little about then VS now in regard to your performances as a CrossFit athlete.
When I first walked in I couldn’t do an OHS with the pvc pipe and running a 400 left me gassed. I’ve came a long way from that and can’t wait to push further
Do you have any special or successful CrossFit Connex memories/moments?
Every day at Connex is special. I love my Connex family
What advice would you give to a newbie or someone just joining CrossFit Connex?
Nut up and get ready for the best ass kicking of your life
What sort of life changes have you experienced because of CrossFit that you didn’t expect?
CrossFit and mainly Connex has helped me a lot with my anxiety. My accident gave me social anxiety and meeting new people kinda freaks me out but the thought of having to do burpees cause I didn’t introduce myself to someone outweighs my anxiety haha. So thanks Em and Kief for getting me out of my comfort zone and making me overcome that anxiety. I’m truly grateful
What does CrossFit mean to you?
It’s a life style and family for sure. People who don’t CrossFit don’t get it. First rule of CrossFit is always talk about CrossFit:)
