“Regularly learn and play new sports.” – Greg Glassman
This past weekend we had many CFC athletes participate in the Madison Shamrock Shuffle. Having the gym participate in this race was awesome for many reasons, but one that may not be as obvious is that participation in this race helped us to embody what it means to be a true CFer . One of the things that CrossFit encourages is for every athlete to take the time to “learn and play new sports.” Through your participation in CF you have become stronger, faster, have more endurance, and more flexibility. CF trains us not just to be fit, but to be better and more capable at anything we want or need to do and to be able to accept and take on any challenge that is presented to us. Putting this newfound capability to the test, by learning and trying new sports, is part of building a solid fitness base. Your new sport can be anything: basketball, stand up paddle boarding, triathlon, running, softball, snow shoeing, water skiing. Whatever your heart feels like doing or trying find the time to do it! Give you self the chance to apply your new fitness in a new, fun and exciting activity.
