Hard work pays off.
3. What is something we might not know about you ?
I have watched all three Lord of the Rings extended edition movies back to back. (I recommend keeping them to separate viewings)
4.  What is your favorite music to listen to while WODing?
Anything fast with a good beat, though “thug Monday’s” and “gangster Friday’s” are a fun change of pace.
5.  What recent adventure are you planning?
I may be going to Vegas in February.
6.  Do any of your family members CrossFit?  If so, where?
My brother went to Connex once but I’m still working on getting him back.

Columbus Ohio (no I don’t like OSU)
9.  What is your occupation?
Project Manager at CUNA Mutual
10. What is your athletic background?
I played sports through freshman year of high school and then played on my college Ultimate team my last year in school. Other than that, I jog and bike alot when the weather is nice.

Section 2:  Some CrossFit Basics
1.  How long have you been with CrossFit Connex?
About 2 months
2. What is your favorite WOD?
Anything that makes me consider not going when I see it on the site.
3. What is your least favorite WOD?
Anything with Double Unders… I still need to do a lot of work on them.
4.  What is your favorite lift?
Probably the hang clean
5. What is your least favorite lift?
Dead Lift
6. What is your favorite paleo meal/snack?
Guac!
7. What is your favorite cheat Food(s)?
Some bread/chip to go with the guac.
8.  What would your perfect WOD look like?
Something that involves varied reps (ladder, 21-15-9, anything like that) no DU, and takes more than 10 minutes. Other than that I’m a fan of everything.
10. What is one thing you have done at CFC that you never thought you would do?
A HSPU seems possible now. I haven’t done one yet, but it no longer seems impossible.
11.  What motivates you during a CrossFit WOD?
Knowing it’ll be over soon, easier/faster the next time, and trying to beat the others in the WOD.
12.   What do you eat pre/post WOD?
A banana before and typically chicken  (or whatever I make for dinner) after.
Section 3- The Nitty Gritty of CrossFit
1.  What results have you seen so far in coming to CFC?
I don’t typically finish minutes after everyone else and I can do a pull up.
2.  What was you main reason for joining CFC?
Wayne was a jerk and wouldn’t stop bugging me to try it.
3. Give us some insight as to your thoughts after your first workout at CrossFit Connex?
I just thought “Wow, I thought I was doing ok on fitness but I’m out of shape”
4. Tell us a little about then VS now in regard to your performances as a CrossFit athlete.
I can do the Rx weight at times instead of just ignoring it like I did at first. There’s a lot of areas that I want to improve (HSPU, ring dips, muscle ups, DU…) where initially I was content with just showing up.
5. Do you have any special or successful CrossFit Connex memories/moments?
The first time I was able to walk in the gym and know everyone’s name because I didn’t feel new anymore.
6. What advice would you give to a newbie or someone just joining CrossFit Connex?
Have benchmarks (lift maxes, rep maxes) that you can use to gauge improvement. It can be helpful to have that quantifiable gain since the workout is always different.
7. What sort of life changes have you experienced because of CrossFit that you didn’t expect?
I eat so much more now. Also, going up multiple flights of stairs is easier.
8. What does CrossFit mean to you?
CrossFit is a community that welcomes anyone in (including me) and is constantly working to improve everyone involved.
